About ASSDA
Stainless steel is one of the largest growth industries of the past 100 years. Since 1950, worldwide production has expanded from about 1 million tonnes to more than 50 million tonnes in 2018, at a growth rate of 5.5% year-on-year. During this time, the image of stainless steel has changed from an exotic specialist alloy to an everyday material used in high quality durable products.
The Australian Stainless Steel Development Association (ASSDA) was established in 1992 to address and harness stainless steel’s growth trend in Australia, and today remains as the Association’s core objective.
ASSDA focuses its market development efforts in fostering the understanding and use of stainless steel by developing the competence and efficiency of the industry through promotion, education and training, the provision of technical advice and fabricator accreditation.
ASSDA aims to instil an innovative, proactive and member-responsive culture, and the Association could not continue without the valuable support of its more than 175 member organisations work with ASSDA to grow the market for stainless steel.
About FMHMBA
FMHMBA was established in 1993 and has 14 associate members, namely in Selangor and Federal Territory, Perak, Malacca, Johor, Kelantan, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Penang, Pahang, Sibu, Sandakan, Terengganu, Kedah and Perlis. There are about 3,000 members nationwide. The head quarter is located in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, which is convenient for directors to attend meetings and conduct business affairs.
The establishment of FMHMBA not only promotes and maintains high-level hardware, machinery and building materials services, but also maintains a good relationship between members and the community, as well as the latest business and product information. We also act as a bridge between the government and the industry.
About IMOA
The International Molybdenum Association (IMOA) is a non-profit research organisation, which serves as the world forum on various aspects of the international stainless steel industry. ISSF was founded in 1996. The members of ISSF are producers of stainless steel (integrated mills and rerollers) and stainless steel development associations.
The ISSF provides a focal point for the global stainless steel industry and an opportunity to combine resources on matters of shared interest. ISSF also promotes the use of stainless steels and works very closely with the regional stainless steel development associations (SSDAs) and the Associations representing the Raw Materials producers.
About INASSDA
The Indonesian Stainless Steel Development Association (INASSDA) is a non-profit organization which was established in 2021. It is committed to the growth and development of stainless steel industry in Indonesia.
INASSDA has four main goals: to strengthen the role of stainless steel usage in the national economy; to optimise networks and partnerships with fellow business actors and stakeholders; to escalate the competence, skills, and productivity of human resources in the stainless steel field; and to provide business education, protection and advocacy in order to implement a better working relationship for all parties.
About the Malaysian Iron and Steel Industry Federation (MISIF)
The Malaysian Iron and Steel Industry Federation (MISIF) is the national industry association for manufacturers of iron and steel products. With over 130 member companies involved in the manufacturing of (stainless) steel and affiliated services, MISIF’s primary mission is to assist and support members in carrying out their business efficiently and successfully. To achieve this, it undertakes various strategic activities to ensure a progressive and conducive industry for the betterment of Malaysian iron and steel players.
About The Nickel Institute
The Nickel Institute is the global association of leading primary nickel producers. Its mission is to promote and support the proper use of nickel in appropriate applications.
The NI grows and supports markets for new and existing nickel applications including stainless steel, and promotes sound science, risk management, and socio-economic benefit as the basis for public policy and regulation.
Through its science division NiPERA Inc., the NI also undertake leading-edge scientific research relevant to human health and the environment. It is the centre of excellence for information on nickel and nickel-containing materials and has offices in Asia, Europe and North America.
About NZSSDA
The objective of the New Zealand Stainless Steel Development Association is to support and provide fabricators, manufacturers, engineers, architects and others with access to information on stainless steel standards, specifications, fabrication, machining, installation & maintenance, practical training and seminars, as well as links to technical resources.
Since our formation in 1999, we have been publishing newsletters promoting both NZ and International applications of stainless steel, as well as regular newsletters to our members. We also network with other NZ industry groups in order to promote the benefits and advantages of using Stainless Steel. Our close association with NZ organisations such as HERA and Metals NZ gives us opportunities for input into decisions regarding national issues such as manufacturing, training, sustainability and zero carbon emissions.
We organise product and training seminars for industry and members covering a wide range of topics, as well as offering preferred access to international webinars.
About the Singapore Welding Society (SWS)
The objectives of the Singapore Welding Society are to promote the technical advancement of the science, art, process, work, occupation, practice and standard of welding in all its branches and uses, and to conduct research. The Society shares and promotes the knowledge of all welding systems and their respective application to industrial purposes. It further promotes welding proficiency and considers, originates and promotes reforms and improvements in welding methods, use and application for industrial or commercial endeavours.
With its widespread reach, SWS gives its members a global platform through which they can interact with other industry professionals for discussions and the exchange of information. In addition, members are privy to updates and invitations to various exhibitions and talks of the industry around the region. SWS is also involved in the development of national and international standards of welding.
About the world stainless association
The world stainless association (worldstainless) is a not-for-profit research and development association which was founded in 1996 as the International Stainless Steel Forum. Its primary roles are to undertake stainless steel industry beneficial tasks that are better coordinated centrally in the fields of promoting industry and material sustainability benefits, conserving resources and promoting the circular economy, providing economic and industry- leading statistics, support industry health & safety needs and developments, outlining market development and expansion opportunities, maintaining brand reputational positioning and materials education.
